The site has a stable base of players and boasts some of the softest games online. We will go as far as saying that cake poker is probably the softest poker site open to US players.
The biggest benefit of playing at Cake Poker is obviously the soft games and a generous 110% up to $600 first deposit bonus. You will find lots of easy games, even at high stakes. Sit N Go's seem to be the softest on the Internet, MTT tournaments suffer from low volumes but the fields are very soft and cash games are very beatable at all stakes. We recommend Cake Poker as one of the best places to build up a bankroll.
The negatives of Cake Poker are that the software is not as usable and functional as some of the other poker rooms, it can be a bit fiddly at times but not enough so to put us off playing there. As far as multitabling goes, you can handle 8 tables at a time on Cake Poker. If you were forced to play more tables, you would really struggle to keep up. If you play only a few tables at once, you should have no problems at all with the cake poker software. The problems we are talking about will mostly frustrate people who play a large volume of hands and not your typical player.
The other negative about playing at Cake is the low number of players online. If you play low stakes you have nothing to worry about, there are hundreds of games going on 24/7 for low stakes cash games, tournaments and sit and go's. The problems come when you want to play upper mid stakes and high stakes games, there is simply not enough games running at these levels to justify basing all your play at Cake.
If your a high stakes professional it is still recommended to get an account on Cake Poker, sure the high stakes games don't run that often but when they do they are very soft. We rarely play 5/10 NL or above on Full Tilt Poker because the games are very tough, when there are high stakes games running on Cake we have found the games to be very soft and very lucrative.
